Three-Universities Joint Seminar -NTU X NYCU X TMU- 20230303 

Here are some feedbacks from our first-year Ph.D student, Antonio Coyoc from Belize. 🇧🇿

On March 3^rd 2023 our University attended a joint seminar at Taipei Medical University, we all signed up to be in different groups that were assigned to us, groups included Environmental Health, Infectious Disease just to name a couple. I was in the Non Communicable Disease(NCD’s) group in this group we were from different part of the globe, Taiwan, Africa, Caribbean, USA, we discussed on the term NCDs and how its affecting our country, similarly all countries that discussed concluded that NCD refers to a group of conditions that are not mainly caused by an acute infection, these result in long term health consequences and often create a need for long-term treatment and care. These conditions include cancers, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and chronic lung illnesses. We came up with some recommendations that are vital to address the growing crisis of NCDs successfully, such as the promotion of healthy eating behaviors, Political commitment etc. We believe that there is a need to look for further innovations to build better lives in society. Overall the discussion was healthy and should be continued.
